Our Community Involvement

Our business has an impact on the communities we work in.

It's our responsibility to give something back. Find out about Jack and Jill, our charity partners.

We choose our charity partners by asking staff who they would like to support and organise fund raising activities throughout the year to support our selected charity.

In May, our people voted unanimously to support The Jack & Jill foundation

The Jack & Jill Foundation provides care and support for children with severe neurological development issues, as well as offering some respite to the parents and families.

In addition, for the month of April, all fundraising went to a special Oxfam appeal for the victims of the Japan Tsunami. We raised €3,995, which was fully matched by the company.

In 2009 and 2010, staff raised over €75,000 for Barreststown, a children’s medical charity. In addition we donated €6,667 in a 4-week appeal for the Haiti earthquake appeal.

Simon Communities of Ireland and Mental Health Ireland received €53,000 each in 2008 in donations from our staff, which were fully matched by Standard Life.

We've been supporting the community through a number of initiatives since 1998. We also contribute to the community by donating in kind.

We have a long-standing participation in the St Vincent de Paul Giving Tree Christmas appeal, and the Irish Cancer Society Daffodil Day.

This year also saw our inaugural drive for Easter Eggs for Barnardos.

Involving our people in community investment is important to us.

It gives us the opportunity to share skills and knowledge – and it also helps us develop new skills. That is why our volunteering policy provides paid time off to for staff to continue their valuable work in their own communities.

Every year, our Chairman's Awards celebrate individuals and teams whose achievements make a difference in their communities.
