I want to change the postal address for my policy

Simply write to us at Customer Service, Standard Life, 90 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2 or call us on (01) 639 7000 with your new address details and we will update our records. Alternatively log on to www.newaddress.ie and follow the instructions. Please note that this will only apply to your Standard Life policy and not your Computershare account.

I want to update my personal details

If there are any mistakes with your name or date of birth in any correspondence, please write to us at Customer Service, Standard Life, 90 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2, and we will update our records.

I want to pay my premium by direct debit

Print and complete this Direct Debit Instruction form and return it to us and we will arrange for your future premiums to be automatically debited from your account.

I want to advise you of my new bank account details

Just print out, complete and return this Direct Debit Instruction form.

Once we receive this form we will update our records with your new bank account details and future premiums will be debited from your new account.

I want to switch funds

Firstly it's important that you discuss this with your financial adviser and that you find out about what funds are available under your plan.

Then complete and sign this switch form and return by post to Customer Service, Standard Life, 90 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2. Alternatively, you can send us written instructions by post.

I want to find out about my retirement options

It's very important that you discuss your options with your Independent Financial Adviser. To find out more about personal pension plans and retirement options, log onto the Financial Regulator wesbite www.itsyourmoney.ie where you can find independent information on financial products to help you make informed decisions about your personal finances.

I want to surrender my policy

Before you decide to surrender your policy it is important that you discuss your decision with your Independent Financial Advisor.

Once you've made your decision to surrender your policy, simply write to: Settlements Department, 90 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2, stating the policy number and advising us that you wish to surrender your policy. Please make sure you sign this document and if there is more than one person named on this policy, please make sure they sign it too.

Alternatively, you can call us on (01) 639 7100 (security questions will be asked).

If your policy was/is used as a guarantee in connection with a loan, it may be assigned to a lender. If this is the case, you will need to contact your lender and ask them to write to Standard Life releasing their assignment.

If your plan is being used to support a mortgage loan, then you need to make sure that you have made alternative arrangements to cover your loan including life cover before surrendering it.

In the case of a death claim, a copy of the death certificate needs to be sent to the Settlements Department.

I want to stop paying premiums for a period of time (premium holiday)

In order to temporarily stop paying premiums on your policy, we'll need you to send us written instructions. Please call us on (01) 639 7000 to check if your policy is eligible for a premium holiday. Depending on the type of policy you hold, you may be able to recommence premium payment at a later date. To do this, we'll need a written instruction and a direct debit mandate from you.
